Utilising her expertise in leadership, strategy and governance, combined with roles in education, she supports the intergenerational space enabling families who are in business together make aligned, transformational decisions about their collective futures as owners. Mairi has a particular passion to define the layers of capital in a family business – human, intellectual, entrepreneurial and financial – and ensuring these are amplified in the transition process to the next generation of leaders.
As Paul Andrews, Founder and CEO of Family Business United adds, “Mairi has demonstrated over a number of years her commitment to the family business sector. She has first hand experience from her own family business and continues to push boundaries and support the sector in so many ways and is truly worthy of her place in the Family Business Hall of Fame.”
As Mairi concludes, “Family businesses are resilient, ambitious and adaptable, they think about the long term success, the legacy of their actions, and because they comprise of family members working together they are also challenging and complex. I love working in this field – I’ve been a next gen, a now gen and an active owner and now I am fortunate enough to advise the sector. I want to give owners of family enterprises the energy and support to recognise what they are already doing well and to thrive through their transitions of ownership and leadership.”
“I am very flattered to be recognised in the Family Business Hall of Fame amongst so many of my peers and visionaries. What an amazing idea Paul. I am delighted to be one of the inaugural inductees.”
