Gibsons Games are the winner of this year’s Small Family Business of the Year Award at the Family Business of the Year Awards. Managing Director and great-granddaughter of the founder Kate Gibson accepted the reward on behalf of the company, who were thrilled to be recognised by Family Business United for their outstanding contributions.
Gibsons Games is a family-run business – their enduring mission is to bring people together with the joy of puzzles and games. The company is distinguished for honouring its heritage while remaining fresh and relevant for modern audiences.
Gibsons Games has been around since 1919 is are now into its’ fourth generation with Kate Gibson at the helm. Proud of their British heritage, Gibsons update their iconic Blue Box jigsaws with new designs several times a year, as well as introducing fresh new puzzle ranges alongside. Their products remain vibrant and exciting – testament to why Gibsons are still a household name. Most recently these have included a brand-new range of Team GB puzzles and games, which are now available for purchase ready for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Additionally, in November 2023, Gibsons were awarded their B Corp certification for upholding exemplary ethical, social and environmental practices. This has included charity initiatives, environmentally friendly manufacturing and distribution, a highly inclusive product range featuring dementia-friendly puzzles, and a positive working culture.
