Samantha was just 19 when she set up Open Study College with her father after identifying a gap in the market for fully supported distance learning. Their aim was to help people to improve their career prospects and make education accessible to everyone.
Now the business offers over 700 courses across a broad spectrum of disciplines and has more than 100,000 students across the UK and beyond.
Samantha is a respected member of the business community, having been awarded many accolades, including being named as one of the ‘UK’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders.’ Samantha knew from an early age that she wanted to own a successful business one day and she made that happen thanks to her ambitious mindset. For her, family is just as important as business.
As a family-owned and run business, Samantha ensures that family values are at the core of everything they do. She is extremely driven, has some very exciting plans for the year ahead and strives to grow turnover to £12 million by 2024.
Samantha is well deserving of a place in our Family Business Top 100.
