Another family business success for this beautiful hotel
The Goring Hotel was today crowned the best destination in London for that quintessentially British experience, afternoon tea, in the 2013 Top London Afternoon Tea Award presented by The Tea Guild.
The five-star hotel in Belgravia, just behind Buckingham Palace, beat off competition from other leading establishments to take the crown, including Fortnum & Mason, The Ritz, The Savoy and The Lanesborough.
The judging takes place with anonymous visits and scores are given to a range of attributes including decor, crockery, the attitude of staff, service efficiency and the overall taste of the tea too.
Guests choose from the traditional afternoon tea or a champage afternoon tea with a selection of homemade scones, pastries and finger sandwiches.
Food and Beverage Manager at The Goring is delighted with the award, adding, "We are honoured to receive this prestigious award as we strive to get all the details right to provide our guests with the service that they expect from us here at The Goring."
