A £15m investment will see the award-winning country house hotel, based near Horsham, Sussex, open the doors to a 44,000 sq. ft. spa where guests, members and spa seekers alike can expect innovative facilities and treatments, as well as an extensive menu at the new Botanica restaurant.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding South Downs, the building itself takes on the infamous sweeping landscape, with floor to ceiling windows making the most of the stunning views. Designed by esteemed architects Felce & Guy Partnership with sustainability in mind, the unique architecture brings the outside in and extends the spa out into the grounds, where terraced sun decks will surround the UK’s first heated natural swim pond.
Relaxation at The Spa at South Lodge
Arriving in style, guests will be transported from the hotel via the UK’s first stretched electric tuk-tuks, where they will be greeted by the spa’s expansive offering. Inclusive of an infused sauna and two steam rooms (one salt and one herbal), The Spa at South Lodge also boasts a further two swimming pools – an indoor infinity ozone treated pool and an outdoor vitality hydrotherapy pool – meaning guests will be spoilt for choice throughout their visit.
Fourteen uniquely-designed treatment rooms, plus a dedicated mud room, will play host to a menu of over 50 treatments, developed with natural philosophy in mind and many curated with Exclusive’s very own The Spa range. Further cementing The Spa at South Lodge as one of the hottest new openings of 2019, it proudly offers treatments from award-winning Hungarian skincare Omorovicza, the only spa in the UK to do so. Taking a new approach to the wellbeing of guests and therapists, the massage offering at The Spa at South Lodge will be flipped on its head to provide hot stone and bamboo massages as standard, rather than as an added extra. Guests are guaranteed to be wowed by the wide range of treatments which, alongside massages, include wraps, facials and LED light therapy, as well as after treatment complimentary access to state-of-the-art 4 Senses Loungers which combine sound, light, scent and vibration for the ultimate in relaxation.
Fitness at The Spa at South Lodge
Those keen to keep fit can do so at the state-of-the-art gym, complete with the latest Technogym equipment, the outdoor training terrace, or at the dedicated spin studio where Group Cycle classes can cater for up to 19 people at once. A holistic studio fit for 15 is also open to guests and will provide the perfect setting for yoga, meditation, HIIT and dance inspired fitness on a weekly basis.
Grooming at The Spa at South Lodge
The Ridgeview beauty bar, including four manicure and two pedicure stations, houses the UK’s first ever sparkling wine Enoflute wine dispenser, offering the opportunity to kick back and really relax while enjoying a glass of fizz with your treatment. Meanwhile, the neighbouring male grooming bar – with a residency from local barbers Grizzly’s – offers a beer with every full haircut or wet shave, creating the perfect setting in which to prepare for whatever you have planned for the evening ahead.
Dining at The Spa at South Lodge
Between treatments, guests can refuel at Botanica, where a selection of delicious dishes, as healthy as you want them to be, will leave you feeling nourished and rejuvenated. With head chef Jonathan Spiers at the helm, Botanica draws on the South Downs as a larder for fresh and seasonal ingredients. Created with a Mediterranean influence, although not totally vegetarian, the menu will feature a plethora of plant-based plates.
Standout dishes include the undeniably delicious Wasted Burger, made entirely from leftover ingredients from the morning’s juices, which is bound to tempt the taste buds of even the most dedicated meat eater. Created to give you a natural boost, the freshly prepared juices will come with the option to add specially formulated tinctures, Heart, Beauty, Immunity and Invigorate, allowing you to continue your spa experience right through to your refreshments.
