New Campaign Celebrating Family Firms

25th September 2018 Paul Andrews

Family Business United launches new campaign to get family firms to celebrate the fabulous contribution they make to the UK economy.

Family Business United are delighted to announce the launch of  the 'Family Firms Make Britain GREAT' campaign which is essentially a ready made marketing campaign for family firms and those working with family businesses to get behind helping to raise awareness of the diversity and contribution of the sector to the national economy.

As Paul Andrews, founder and managing director of FBU explains, "Essentially, we are asking for support of the family business sector with participants making a 'cuppa' and taking selfies and sharing them online with the hashtag #FamilyBusinessesMakeBritainGREAT and we will then engage and share throughout the campaign.  The plan is for a social media campaign to really help the country recognise the family business sector.  Many of the smaller family firms are really proud of their roots, who they are and what they do but don't have the resources to create large scale campaigns so we are hoping that this campaign will give them an opportunity to be part of the family business voice and get involved."

As Paul continues, "Taking the idea of a cup of tea as the central theme, what better way to raise awareness of the sector!"

For the campaign FBU are using individually wrapped tea bags that are being supplied by Penningtons Tea and Coffee, a family that has its roots in Kendal and the English Lake District, dating back to 1709 and a business that is proud to be independent, family-owned and family-run, boasting a team with over 50 years’ experience supplying beverages to the area’s hospitality industry.

"As a family business we understand the importance of family and business and are delighted to be part of this national campaign.  What better way to help raise the profile of family firms than the quintessentially British cup of tea!” says Gina Pennington.
