Bringing the family business community together

New Australian Partner For FBU

13th June 2019 Paul Andrews

Family Business United ('FBU') partners with John Broons Advisory in Australia as the global development of FBU starts to take shape.

As an organisation FBU continues to grow and develop its global reach and has now turned its relationship with one of the leading family business advisors in Australia into a commercial tie up.

John Broons, also known as 'The Family Business Guy' down under is a Family Business Advisor who works with families in business to enable them to work and play better as individuals, as a team and as a family.

Services range from one on one coaching for CEOs and family business executives to business advisory services, facilitation and succession planning and he is well versed in collaboration and sharing his insights as a conference keynote speaker.

As John himself explains, "Running a business can be a lonely experience. As the person in charge, you’re expected to know the right thing to do, to have all the answers, to lead with purpose but depending on the circumstance, that may not always be the case.  In situations like those, having someone to confide in; to bounce ideas off; to remind you of what’s important can be crucial."

"Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with 100s of Australian business owners on a multitude of issues. Generally, these CEOs, presidents, business owners and heads of family enterprises seek me out because they are worried, overwhelmed or confused about their business and are looking for a sounding board.  Someone to depend upon for solid, consistent, objective, third-party business insight, knowledge and perspective.  I’ve performed a variety of roles in that period including that of Coach and Mentor, Advisor, Counsellor and Facilitator"

"Most business owners approach me because they’re stuck – unsure of what to do about this or that. With very few exceptions, my clients report greater clarity and confidence about what to do next as a result of my questioning and input.  I help them to get 'unstuck.'”

"Having developed a family business friendship with Paul and the team at Family Business United over the past few years and finally meeting during the FFI conference in London a couple of years ago, I have found someone who really appreciates the family business sector in a way that I do.  FBU generates and shares some fantastic insights, and undertakes some really innovative projects to put family businesses on the map and I am delighted that we have found a way to work together too.  Family businesses across Australia can benefit from the resources and insights that they supply and we can work together to get the stories behind some of our great family firms here in Australia into the global family business arena too.  It will be a pleasure working with Paul and his team."

As Paul Andrews, Founder and Managing Director of FBU adds, "John is a great guy, well respected by the global family business community and someone that shares the same values as we do, has a passion for family businesses and is the right fit for us.  John has some great insights which will certainly help to enhance our content and we are looking forward to working together and helping to put Australian family businesses front and centre."

FBU is an award-winning magazine and resource centre for the family business sector and is developing a bespoke Australasian content stream too.  Visit the website here to find out more and send any news items to news@familybusinessunited.co.uk for us to add to the section.
