Family Firm Goes Nuts For Doughnuts!

Dessert lovers across Staffordshire are being given the chance to create their own doughnut in a competition launched by Wrights Food Group.
Wrights ‘Doughnut of the Month’ food initiative has proved a big hit with customers across the company’s 20 retail shops since its launch earlier this year.
Now the family run company, based in Crewe, is giving customers a rare opportunity to demonstrate their flair for flavours by coming up with a new and exciting twist on the traditional jam doughnut.
Since the introduction of ‘Doughnut of the Month’, Wrights has developed a number of different flavours to whet customers appetites including Lemon Meringue; Strawberries and Cream; Pina Colada; Jaffa Cake and Millionaire, all priced at just £1.35.
Wrights retail and operations manager Julie Brereton said: “Since we started selling the different flavours of luxury doughnuts we have received such a positive response from our customers. Our most popular doughnut has been the strawberries and cream flavour which was initially introduced in the summer to coincide with Wimbledon but, due to customer demand, we’ve decided to sell this sweet treat permanently in all our stores.”
“It’s really important to us as a company to listen to our customers. We’ve launched this creative competition to find out what people want in our shops.”
To be in with a chance of having their custom doughnut flavour sold in Wrights shops, customers have to visit the company’s Facebook page before 27 September and add and then share a post highlighting their own luxury sweet treat combination.
The six winners will be announced as their doughnut is released each month, with each one receiving £50 worth of Wrights retail vouchers.
Wrights chairman and CEO Peter Wright said: “So far we’ve received some fantastic flavour ideas but we’re looking forward to seeing even more come through in the coming days. At Wrights we believe anything is possible so we want to encourage our customers to be super creative and think big. It goes without saying we’re very much looking forward to creating and tasting the winning doughnuts.”
