Family Businesses In Scotland & The Constitutional Debate

4th December 2012 Paul Andrews

A private family business dinner with the Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP from the IFB

The debate over the constitutional future of Scotland is now gathering pace and will continue to do so as the 2014 referendum approaches.  Companies are beginning to consider how their business prospects would be impacted by Scottish independence.  In particular, family businesses traditionally have strong Scottish roots and will have considered whether independence or maintaining the union is best for their families and businesses.

The Institute for Family Business invites family businesses to a private dinner in Edinburgh on 31 January 2013 with the Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP in association with KPMG to join the debate.

The guest speaker for the dinner is the Rt Hon Alistair Darling who is leading the 'Better Together' campaign and will share his views on why Scotland is stronger as part of the UK.

This will be an excellent opportunity to influence the debate as well as gain a greater insight into the issues.  Other guests at the dinner will all be leaders of  major Scottish family businesses.

Places are limited and by invitation only so if you would like to attend please contact sheryll.mckenzie@ifb.org.uk  to find out more.
