Duvalay Does The Double

Sleep specialists Duvalay have won special recognition at Britain’s Bed Industry Awards for the second year in succession. 

The National Bed Federation (NBF) Highly Commended the family-run business in the ‘Small Bed Manufacturer of the Year 2018-19’ category, which it won the previous year. 

The judges praised the BBC Dragons’ Den veterans for capitalising on the successes of recent years, as well as expanding its capacity and increasing exports.

“It’s pretty much unheard of for a bed manufacturer to receive such a prestigious national accolade two years in a row,” said Duvalay’s Sales and Marketing Director Liz Colleran, who attended the ceremony with her husband Alan and their son Tom.  

“We’re over the moon that, 12 months on from our initial win, our industry peers still consider Duvalay to be frontrunners in what is an extremely competitive marketplace.  Our success reflects our continual innovation and investment in products for the home and leisure markets; the hard work of our craftspeople; and the phenomenal support we get from our customers, as well as our partners – including The Swift Group.”   

The awards and gala dinner were the highlight of a two-day expo which saw Duvalay secure new stockists nationwide – having revealed its much-anticipated 2019 collection of beds for the home. 

Guests enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal and comedy entertainment (courtesy of host and former Rugby Union star Martin Bayfield), before seven ‘Bed Champions’ were announced.

The judges praised Duvalay for signing an exclusive agreement permitting Chinese manufacturers to produce and distribute its Rosalia Collection to the East Asian market. The company is also exporting its handmade Hilary Devey Collection of beds and mattresses to the Far East.

“Duvalay is proud to be representing the leisure vehicle accessories market at a national and international level in the fields of manufacturing, export and retail,” added Liz. 

“We’re shipping sleeping bags to the United States and manufacturing mattresses for UK and continental leisure vehicles, as well as partnering with GO Outdoors on an exclusive range of caravanning and camping products."
