Lancashire Trade Frames is starting 2023 on a high. Hot on the heels of being crowned
Manufacturer/Fabricator of the Year in the 2022 National Fenestration Awards, there is plenty to
celebrate, but General Manager Gavin Stoddard has another reason to be feeling happy. The
company has just secured the services of John Berry.
Many in the fenestration industry will know and respect John. He’s been Kömmerling’s Technical
Services Manager for the last seventeen years and a huge asset to the Profine group. His knowledge
of Kömmerling’s products and systems is quite literally second to none. So, Lancs Trade MD, Mark
Rowland saw an opportunity too good to miss and made John an offer.
Over the last few years, Kömmerling has been a major part of the Lancs Trade product portfolio.
With John Berry on the team, both the fabrication staff and the company’s installer customer base
will have the benefit of a true expert. Gavin Stoddard told us he is delighted to be working with John,
saying: ‘We couldn’t have anyone better to be looking after the Technical and Inventory side of the
business. Last year was good, this year could be amazing.’
We asked John about postponing his retirement plans and getting stuck in at an ambitious and
growing company. He told us that the ethos of Lancs Trade appealed and that he’d been impressed
by their exacting standards. ‘This is a business with PAS24 Accreditation and a Gold CMS Licence.
Like me, these people love to do a good job.’
We asked one last question: Did it make any difference to his decision that the fabricator is based
just a few miles away from John’s Radcliffe home? He laughed and admitted that it helped swing the
decision, saying. ‘A lot of good things come from Lancashire, you know.’
