Swindon Charity Gets Vital Boost From Local Metal Recycler, EMR

EMR Swindon continues its partnership with STEP Swindon, a charity supporting children and young people throughout the town.

STEP Swindon, a charity which supports young people aged 7 – 18 years, offers a safe and supportive environment for young people experiencing isolation and social exclusion due to a poverty, lack of social skills or personal circumstances. The charity gives support which includes guided group sessions and 1:1 support.

In its second year of partnership, EMR has donated £3,000, which will enable STEP Swindon to provide 1:1 support for 150 young people. These sessions help young people to improve their self-esteem and develop coping mechanisms for any mental health issues they may face. The donation was made as part of EMR’s Young Futures Reimagined programme, designed to give young people a better, brighter future.

Johanna Bryant, Project Director at STEP Swindon shared her thoughts on the continued partnership: “It’s absolutely amazing that EMR Swindon have decided to generously donate £3,000 to enable us the strengthen the support we offer to vulnerable young people, this donation will make a huge difference to the lives of so many children from across Swindon.”

Colin Huntley, General Manager at EMR Swindon commented: “At EMR we are passionate about supporting young people to build brighter futures and helping them to overcome any obstacles they may face.”

“STEP Swindon offers a lifeline to young people who are dealing with circumstances outside of their control, providing a safe space to engage in positive discussions and activities. I have no doubt that our donation will help them to change the lives of many young people.”
