Leading national maintenance and compliance contractor Novus Property Solutions has expanded its bid team in response to increasing demand for the company’s expanded service offering, and to support its ambitious five-year growth strategy.
Lucy Makepeace has joined as Head of Bid Management, and will work alongside the wider team to continue to secure new partnerships with Novus’ core target customer base across the housing, fit-out and healthcare sectors. Lucy previously held the position of Bid Manager at Wates for seven years, giving her a wealth of valuable experience in the maintenance and compliance industry. Lucy will be reunited with her former colleague, Head of Business Development, Claire Bailey-Jones, with whom she will work closely in her new role.
Commenting on her appointment, Lucy said: “This is a really exciting time to join Novus, due to the presence of a clear five-year sustainable growth strategy and following an unprecedented year of work winning. I am looking forward to working closely with the new business team, and our operations and functional support teams across Great Britain, to build on this momentum and to contribute to tangible business growth.”
“I hope to bring my experience of bidding, across the reactive and planned maintenance sectors, to identify targeted delivery solutions which benefit our current and prospective partners and to leave a lasting legacy in the communities in which we work.”
Novus has also promoted Darren Fowler to the position of Head of Estimating, in recognition of his long years of exemplary work within the Estimating team. Darren’s in-depth understanding of Novus and its systems will allow him to work closely with the wider team to continue to refine and develop Novus’ pricing strategy and processes.
As well as expanding the team, Novus’ Head of Business Development Claire Bailey-Jones will oversee the new business team, in recognition of the impact she has had on the company’s success since joining in April 2021. Claire has been instrumental in the development of Novus’ Sustain service, and worked tirelessly to help the company have its most successful year ever in 2021 for winning work. To support Claire in taking on this additional responsibility, Gemma Edwards has also been promoted to Senior Business Development Manager, where she will oversee the business development team and report directly to Claire.
Commenting on the changes to the new business division, Matt Hiley, Executive Director, said: “Our new business team has never been busier and is enjoying a period of unparalleled success in terms of introducing new clients and winning new work, and these changes will position them to reach higher and further than ever before.”
“What’s more, we’re very proud to have exceptional women like Lucy, Claire and Gemma taking the lead within the business: having a diverse talent pool is vital to our future success, and I know this will prove to be inspirational to their younger female colleagues within Novus and in the wider industry too.”
