Mayer Environmental Named Amongst UK’s ‘Best Workplaces™ For Women’

Consultancy and training company, Mayer Environmental has been named one of the UK’s top employers for women as part of the 2022 UK’s ‘Best Workplaces™ for Women’ initiative.

Mayer Environmental, a subsidiary of the EMR Group, has more than 20 years of experience helping to increase standards and develop skills within the recycling, resource management and waste sectors.

Based on employee feedback and a robust audit of the company’s culture, the annual recognition programme praised Mayer Environmental for its commitment to a diverse, representative and welcoming working environment for female employees at all levels of the business.

Mayer Environmental offers flexible working to help employees balance work and family commitments as well as fostering a culture where staff can both suggest opportunities for better working practices and raise concerns where needed.

The company has a longstanding goal of developing women into senior roles in the business in the aim of creating equality and diversity throughout Mayer Environmental and the industry as a whole.

The UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women recognises businesses in four categories; Super Large, Large, Medium and Small. Mayer Environmental has been successful in the Small category, which is for organisations with 20 to 50 UK employees. The company joins 68 other organisations that are recognised in this category.

Patrick Davison – Director at Mayer Environmental, said: “I’ve always felt that businesses work best when they have a gender balance and this award from the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women programme underlines the value of this approach. The whole Mayer Environmental team has worked incredibly hard to build a culture where everybody feels valued and included. I’m exceptionally proud that this has been recognised.”

“What’s so important is that a large part of this process has been based on the feedback of our staff who clearly feel that Mayer Environmental is a great place to work, whatever your gender.”

“It’s still a journey, however, and every member of our team is committed to make the changes we need to make Mayer Environmental the best possible workplace, not just for the women working at our company today, but to attract the best talent in the future as well.”

The UK’s Best Workplaces for Women will be featured in the next issue of Elle Magazine (out 28 July).
