Next Generation Award Finalists Announced

Family Business United continues to raise the profile of family firms and the contribution they make to the UK economy.  Family businesses would not exist if it were not for the underlying involvement of families and individuals within these businesses, notably the next generation as they step up to take on various roles as the business and the family look to the future.  The Family Business Lifetime Next Generation Award was created to recognise special individuals who have contributed so much to their own family business as they continue on their journey.

As Paul Andrews, Founder & CEO of Family Business United explains, “We regularly meet family members in their business who are inspirational and driven, passionate and committed and with the long term desire to pass the business on to the next generation in as sustainable a position as possible.  The next generation need to develop the necessary skills and attributes to lead going forward and the Next Generation Award seeks to celebrate the finalists, and ultimately recognise their contribution, with an overall winner each year.”

The finalists now in the running for the 2022 Family Business Next Generation Award are, in no particular order:

  • Richard Wilsdon, Britcab Ltd
  • Steve Rigby, The Rigby Group Plc
  • Charlie Harrison, Furniture Village
  • Ian Arbuckle, LINIAN
  • Gavin Annon, The Mount Charles Group Limited
  • Rachel Parkes, Simplicity Financial Planning Ltd
  • Sahil Ali, Web Alliance
  • Brian Toward, Wholesale Domestic Bathrooms

Each finalist is worthy of their place which affords them recognition for their endeavours.

A panel of expert judges will review the submissions and deliberate to determine the winner who will be announced at the National Family Business Dinner that is taking place at Pennyhill Park, part of the Exclusive Collection which is a family owned business too, on September 22, 2023.

Further details about the dinner and tickets can be found here

As Paul concludes, “There are some fantastic finalists, all of whom are great advocates of the family business sector and each would make a worthy winner of the award this year.  We look forward to announcing the winner of the Next Generation Award in September.”
