Bowmer + Kirkland have started demolition works at the former Bootle Street Police Station, the site of the St Michael’s development in Manchester city centre.
Phase one of the scheme, expected to complete and be ready for occupation in 2024, will deliver 185,000 sq ft of prime Grade A office accommodation across nine floors, a new public realm and a stunning rooftop restaurant with views across Manchester. The delivery of this phase will support around 1,800 jobs, bringing £120m of investment into the city.
St Michael’s is the first real estate investment in Manchester from leading global investment firm KKR, which formed a JV with Relentless Developments last year to deliver the project. Gary Neville and the Relentless Developments team celebrated the major milestone on site this week.
