EMR Rochdale, found on Uncouth Road, has extended support to young people in a partnership with local charity, Rochdale Connections Trust.
Having been founded in 1997, Rochdale Connections trust has a long history of supporting families throughout the town. Their aim is to combat disengagement in younger generations by offering a number of targeted intervention strategies including mentoring, youth clubs and programmes such as happy children and healthy relationships.
The metal recycler, which opened its first site in the town in the 1950s, has offered a donation to support the trust’s youth mentoring programme. This will enable 40 young people between the ages of 14 and 24 years to receive 1-2-1 support from a volunteer mentor.
Jordan Reddaway, Operations Manager at EMR Rochdale explains the decision to join forces with Rochdale Connections Trust: “EMR is based in the heart of Rochdale and it is important to myself and the team that we are able to support young people in the local area in building bright futures.”

This ultimately changes their direction and gives them the tools they need to transition into adult life. We look forward to working with Rochdale Connections Trust and supporting them in their vital work.”
Launched in 2020, EMR’s Young Futures Reimagined initiative aims to support young people across the country to build brighter futures. In 2021, the metal recycler supported over 40 projects across the UK.
