CHD Living Crowned Health & Welfare Champions

CHD Living has taken the national Health & Welfare title at the 2021 Family Business of the year awards organised by Family Business United (‘FBU’).

CHD Living is a family owned and operated group of care services providing the best quality of care to its communities. With 13 residences across Surrey, CHD Living also operates two specialist rehabilitation centres and a domiciliary care business, CHD Care at Home. Across all of its services, CHD Living care for and support over 800 older and vulnerable people.

Shaleeza Hasham, Head of Hospitality and Communications at CHD Living said, “As a family owned and operated group of care services, family is at the heart of everything we do. It is a huge honour to have been shortlisted for the Family Business of the Year Awards, and an even bigger privilege to have been chosen as a winner. This award means so much to us and to our teams who have endured a tremendously difficult year and have worked incredibly hard throughout. I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of the entire team, who deserve all the recognition and our thanks.”

As Paul Andrews, founder of FBU and organisers of the awards explains, “Family businesses are the engine room of the UK economy and these awards celebrate their contribution with this award seeking to recognise a family firm that really stands out in the health and welfare sector.”

“Health and welfare has been top of the agenda over the past year and remains a critical area of concern across the world. CHD Living has put the family at the core of what they do each and every day, and have been doing for the past 35 years. The business is owned and run by an innovative family who really do undertake work that makes a real difference. With support from their extended family, they have worked tirelessly to establish a culture of compassion and care, values that have remained as the business has grown into one of the largest, independently owned providers of care in Surrey.”

“Strong governance, strong values and a real underlying sense of purpose helped them stand out from the other finalists in this category. They are constantly looking to do things differently and to reach new heights and despite it not having been an easy year for them, they have remained focused on what they do and brought the outside world in to their residents where possible and even launched an ‘adopt a grandparent’ campaign that made international news headlines. CHD Living are a fantastic family business and deserving winners of the 2021 Health & Wellbeing Family Business of the Year Award “concludes Paul.
