BanyanGlobal is a global advisory firm that specializes in helping families transition their family enterprises from one generation to another.
At our core, we believe in the power of effective ownership. Our clients own significant shared assets, such as family operating businesses, family offices, shared family property, and family foundations. They face a myriad of complex governance, strategic, legal, tax, and emotional challenges because of the size and influence of their family enterprises. Virtually everything that happens in a family business is rooted in how it is owned, who owns it, and what the owners want. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. But there are choices, options, and trade-offs.
Our team recognizes that as families grow and evolve, they will be faced with difficult choices to ensure that their legacy is renewed across generations. Our expertise is working in family ownership situations that are complex, emotional, or simply “stuck.” Our team of consultants has deep expertise in business strategy, law, organizational development, psychology, communications, tax, and finance.
Our role as consultants is to partner with our clients across all these issues to help them align on what their goals are, identify a road map to achieve those goals, and then make the changes required to thrive across their family, business, and ownership interests. We do not provide investment or legal, therapeutic, or investment advice, but we do work with a client’s existing advisors and management team or provide referrals to new professionals if requested.
Our experience is deep, having worked with more than 200 clients from 20 countries on six continents, facilitated leading education programs, and written classic family business books and articles for Harvard Business Review and other leading publications. Our clients typically have operating business with annual revenues of $200 million to $10 billion or more and hail from North America, Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
