2020 has not been the year most businesses expected or planned for, and with the global pandemic affecting us all, family firms have had to learn and adapt. It hasn’t been easy but many have shown resilience and strength by adapting their business models to the new ‘normal,’ embracing change, investing in their processes and infrastructure to take advantage of new opportunities and taking time to reflect on their future strategic plans.
Our annual Family Business Survey, sponsored this year by Mazars UK, is an important piece of research to ‘take the pulse of the family business sector,’ and to identify challenges faced by family firms today, and above all, recognise the prevailing family business agenda.
As well as identifying the key concerns on boardroom agendas across the UK, this year we also took a deeper look at some of the challenges with insights into family values, future leaders and the skills required for leadership, leadership teams, technology, cyber security and growth & sustainability.
