Here at Family Business United we have undertaken a charity challenge each year to help bring our community together to raise funds to help battle homelessness.
For a number of years now we have teamed up with Plan Insurance and undertaken a ‘Santa Dash’ each December collecting warm clothes and sleeping bags to donate to national homelessness charities whilst also raising funds through cash donations and the conversion of unwanted CD’s and DVD’s to cash to put to good use.
At the same time, our ‘Santa Dash’ van visited family firms taking part from as far afield as Plymouth, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Colchester. Hard work, long days on the road but great fun and fantastic to see our family business friends and members coming together to support the cause.
2020 has been a challenging year and with restrictions still in place we are not able to hit the road this year, so instead we are going to ‘pedal 4 good’ instead! Our aim is to raise funds for our chosen charity by riding a static bike the equivalent distance as the 400 miles from Ridgeview Winery Estate in Sussex to Hawkshead Relish in Cumbria.
These businesses will also be the start and finish points for our virtual family business tour of Britain that takes place in the new year too!
400 miles is a long way and a big challenge for us but one that we are going to embrace and embark on with a positive approach, helping to raise funds for a charity that really does a lot of good. The campaign will run until the end of February 2021!
We are also encouraging others to join the campaign so please do get in touch to find out more if you want to join the ‘Pedal 4 Good’ or make a donation (every penny really does make a difference) and wish us luck!
