Kirklees & Calderdale’s Only Fully Private Care Home Welcomes Guests Post COVID

Angelcare Residential Living, Kirklees & Calderdale’s only fully private care home, has opened to guests following a significant refurbishment of an iconic building.

Angelcare Residential Living marks the revitalisation of an iconic building, previously Ingwood Restaurant, a popular attraction during the 1970s and 80s. The building had since served as a care home from Eldercare. Now, following a £500,000 refurb, the only fully private care home in Kirklees and Calderdale, they will be providing several services including dementia care, short term stays for those recovering from surgery, and full live in care for those who require it.

The heads of the home, Thomas & Zoe Enefer are no strangers to the industry. As the family behind Angelcare, a home care provider who work with people across Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield, they have three generations of experience and have worked with local authorities and healthcare providers for over 18 years. Having previously only looked after people in their own home, the opening of Angelcare Residential Living provides an opportunity for those requiring a more comprehensive service.

“We’re delighted to finally open our doors to visitors and guests, after several months of disruptions due to the pandemic” Thomas commented. “As a family run company that has been looking after those most in need in our community for almost two decades, to be able to have our own home is a way to provide even more.”

“Our goal is to provide a luxury, all-inclusive holiday experience for our residents, and help them maintain as much autonomy in their lives in a comfortable environment.”

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic pushed back their initial planned opening date, but the team are happy for the delay as it has allowed them to review their existing infection control procedures and further improve the overall experience for guests.

“It’s no secret the impact the virus has had on care homes” Thomas added. “Thankfully, during the design stage we had an infection control consultant come and design our systems, ensuring that they are second to none. This meant we had to implement no additional measures. Angelcare Residential Living will be one of the safest, most hygienic homes in the country, while at the same time providing all of the amenities you’d expect from a fully private care home, including an all-inclusive bar and restaurant and stunning suites for residents.”
