About Shepherd Neame Limited
Shepherd Neame is an English regional brewery founded in 1698 in Faversham, Kent. It is the oldest brewer in Great Britain and has been family-owned since 1864. The brewery that produces a range of cask ales and filtered beers
Shepherd Neame is a family-controlled brewer and pub operator. We believe that the characteristics central to our success are quality, integrity, individuality, a commitment to Faversham and the wider community of Kent, the passion of our employees and Licensees and, above all, a long term view of the business.
Our brewery and our pubs are at the heart of their communities, raising large sums each year for local and national charities.
The brewery supports town events such as the Classic Car Rally, the Hop Blessing, Hop Festival and Flavours of Faversham Food Festival and has contributed towards the restoration of church bells and the town's Christmas lights.
The company contributes widely within its home town, helping to sustain traditional crafts such as sail-making by sponsoring the sail of the Thames Barge Greta, moored on Faversham Creek.
Shepherd Neame supports many charitable events and celebrates the completion of large pub refurbishments with a donation to a local charitable organisation nominated by the licensee.
We also provide more than £500,000 of sports sponsorships per annum including grassroots and first-class cricket, golf, rugby, football and darts.
The company has a genuine interest in history. Many of our pubs are listed buildings and we are dedicated to safeguarding local and brewing heritage for future generations.
