What Does Your Family Business Do?
Our family has 2 businesses. A wholesale bakery founded in 1960. And a cheese and yoghurt manufacturing plant established in 2000.
How Did You Get Involved?
Myself and my siblings were always expected to go into the business. We are 6 siblings and we’ve all worked in the business at one time or another. I used to work in the administration and retail side of the business while still in school. Then went on to successfully complete an Accounting degree before starting work full time at the business.
What Did You Want To Be When You Grew Up?
What Are Your First Memories Of The Family Business?
I remember slicing bread and serving in the shop at a very young age. I also remember doing the weekly invoices for our customers while in grade 2, approximately 1968. In those days the invoices were done manually.
What Values Are Important In Your Family/Family Business?
Hard work, and respect for employees and customers.
What Is The Best Thing About Being A Family Business?
Knowing the business and the history of the business so well. It allows you to appreciate how far you’ve come.
And The Worst?
It can be difficult to disconnect from work at the end of the day.
What Is The Best Thing About Your Working Day?
Feeling very productive.

When we signed the leasing contract to lease our first computer.
