Kärcher Continue With Dakar Rally

6th January 2017 Paul Andrews

After the great success of Kärcher cleaning centers at the last five Dakar Rallies, the German cleaning specialist will be an official supplier to the rally in 2017 for the sixth year in a row.

Additionally, the company is sponsoring the team of KTM and Mini X-raid.

The global market leader in cleaning solutions will ensure that vehicles are kept clean by erecting cleaning stations with extra powerful pressure washers and wet and dry vacuum cleaners from the professional series at two bivouacs in La Paz (Bolivia) and Salta (Argentina). All teams will be able to have their vehicles cleaned thoroughly before they are prepared overnight to hit the road the next day.

Kärcher’s technology for Dakar 2017 enables water savings of almost 80% compared to traditional car wash with water hose and sponge. Furthermore, high pressure is an environmentally friendly alternative to using chemicals and leads to better cleaning results in a much shorter time. At the cleaning centers, the waste water will be carefully collected and recycled for the sake of the environment.

The service was highly appreciated during the last editions of the Dakar Rally; in 2016 about 1,500 racing and support vehicles got washed in three Kärcher cleaning centers along the route – contributing in this way to the safety of the racing drivers. The assistance demonstrated the efficiency of the company’s equipment even in tough conditions.
