Best In House Recruiters Are Zonal!

17th April 2019 Paul Andrews

The HR team at Scottish tech innovator, Zonal, has been recognised at this year’s s1jobs Recruitment Awards, highlighting the achievements of companies and industry leaders across the country.

The Zonal team won Best In-house Recruitment Team of the Year and received a runners-up commendation for HR Team of the Year, fighting off stiff competition from large employers Lothian Buses, SSE, The AA and Napier University.

Zonal employs over 650 staff from its Tanfield HQ, Edinburgh and locations across the UK.  In the past year it recruited an additional 150 staff, with more than half in R&D, as Zonal continues to develop technology solutions for the hospitality sector.

Zonal’s Head of HR, Catriona Dick, said: “To receive this recognition is an amazing achievement in what has been our biggest recruitment year since we were founded 40 years ago.  Being a family owned company, our core values are really important to us and we haven’t lost sight of those as we continue to grow and innovate.”

The awards are now in their eighth year and staged in association with Fyte.  The 2019 awards were held at the Double Tree by Hilton in Glasgow to a packed audience of more than 500 guests hosted by comedian and television star Katherine Ryan.

Alistair Shaw, regional director of Fyte, said: “What a great event celebrating the best in our industry. The quality of all finalists was the highest we’ve seen. A strong recruitment sector is hugely important for the success of the Scottish economy and we are in good shape.”

The recognition adds to Zonal’s awards tally over the past 12 months including Restaurant Magazine Readers Choice Award for best EPoS brand, The Herald’s Scottish Family Business of the Year, the Scottish Family Business Award & Supreme Champion at the Family Business Awards and Corporate Partner of the Year with its adopted charity, Hope for Children.

Zonal is the leading provider of integrated technology solutions to more than 16,000 leisure and hospitality businesses across the UK.  For 40 years, the company has been working closely with clients to enhance the customer experience through market-leading technology, sector expertise and knowledge and a partnership approach to business.
