Family Firm To Bring Assembly Rooms Back To Glory!

TMDP Group appointed to rejuvenate Melbourne Assembly Rooms, one of South Derbyshire’s best known community and events venues.  

Built in 1897, the Assembly Rooms, which until 40 years ago was Melbourne Secondary School, were in need of refurbishment and following consultation with the local community, it was decided to restore the former primary school to it's original glory.

Following a competitive tender process, TMDP was awarded the contract to strip years of layers of paint to reveal the original brickwork and cornice detail, remove the false ceilings revealing the vaulted ceilings, add in new fixtures and fittings in an industrial modern style as per the brief from the local community.

Situated within a conservation area in the village of Melbourne, TMDP approached the design and renovation with care. Scott Moore, Managing Director, TMDP added, "As specialists in the area of conservation design and construction, we took a sympathetic approach to the project. “The end result is a fabulous transformation and it’s great to see the Assembly Rooms brought back to their former glory."
